A road-going two-stroke V4 derived from Yamaha's OW grand prix racer, with a balancer shaft, power-valve exhaust timing and weight-saving details such as magnesium covers. Launched in 1984, it was the last word in 1980s two-stroke road bikes. Sold as RD500LC in Europe, RZ500 in Canada and Australia, and RZV500R in Japan.
